What To Do, What To Do?

Donald Trump has been the medias best friend and it shows more then ever how they are so dependent on him.  They have made this a mid-term like no other as a referendum on Trumps’ Presidency and a chance to see if their 24/7 bashing and denigrating of President Trump has had their desired effect of correcting what they view as an aberration.  One of the “big” three networks is even advertising their election night coverage, touting that they are treating it as they do the Presidential election night.  Almost makes me want to give up my Parcheesi night.

So why all the fuss?  When you scrape away the barnacles and grunge you can see the two driving forces behind the media and unfortunately one of them is not truth.  Political ideology and greed are the two forces driving this annoying societal affliction we call the media.  It has always been this way and will always be.  The irony is that greed is the main force and the leftist ideology is the camp follower.  The left which despises Capitalism is as dependent on it as the rest of the world.  Ratings use to be the driving force but it seems that now ideology has become a co-pilot and a minimal rating will be accepted for the “proper” ideology.  That is why these mid-term elections are treated as the ever “Breaking News”.  The problem is it isn’t working.  Their ideology has turned many people from them for sure but the main reason is over saturation.  People are just tired of the constant bombardment of “Breaking News” and the in your face bias attracts only a small number of followers who, when they are finished watching don their black sweats and their face covering kerchiefs and go out to scream and throw a public temper tantrum.  I initially believed they covered their face so the POPO could not take their picture but I now believe that they just do not want family, friends and future employers to see them acting out.  Of course, if they happen to become a Democrat Senator they will not have to hide their identity when they act childish.

So, when a news media which is “free” stops being an unbiased observer that reports all the facts how does a person, who takes voting seriously, learn who the political parties are throwing at them?  Well the short but honest answer is we don’t.  All we see are men and women who are groomed by the political parties and the “special interest” that fund them and in reality they are no better then the bobble heads that people have on their dashboards.  Most are no brighter than the average American; a few are accomplished outside the political realm and many are just plain dumb and are chosen because of name recognition, money they can bring in or they are just pretty.  Whichever the reason, we only have ourselves to blame as we keep on electing the same types over and over and expect a different outcome.   It makes me scratch my head when I hear the complaints about how things are and see the complainers talk up the very people and parties that have led us here so I thought it would be therapeutic to write short biographical observations about our choices.

The Democrats –  What do I see when I look at the Democrat Party?  I see a political machine that has been hijacked by radical progressives and shares a trait with their rivals across the aisle – corruption.  At the turn of the twentieth century the progressive movement needed a home.  Teddy Roosevelt who was a Republican and a Progressive soon found himself on the outs with the Republicans and ran on  the “Bull Moose” party in 1912.  This was a very important election in our history as it propelled the Democrat Party with the Progressives in charge, cementing their place inside a major political party.  Had Wilson and the Progressive wing lost that election their influence would have been greatly diluted.  Not only that but the United States would have stayed out of the war in Europe that escalated into the First World War and there would have been a negotiated settlement between the warring nations.  When the U.S. entered the war on the side of England and France the outcome was settled.   So what?  What does that have to do with this mid term election?  If you want to understand where we are and why we are at this place you have to look at our history.  Imagine our Nation as a well knitted sweater.  Almost from the beginning there was a loose thread that was pulled to unravel this experiment in government.  The intervention of the United States into the war in Europe led directly to the unleashing of the evil and destruction that we know as World War Two.  It has been Progressives that has led us into every war and started this Nation on it’s downward trend to become a European Welfare-Warfare state and it was the Democrat Party that was taken over by the progressives.

Today the Democrat Party is void of diversity.  Not diversity of color or gender but rather diversity of thought.   With the exception of one Senator out of West Virginia there are no dissenting voices in their policy making or voting.  It runs from dog catcher to President; all spout the party line.  Can you see the danger with this lack of divergent thought?  If there is an accurate litmus test for a fascistic dogmatic organization it is the level of dissenting voices and how they are treated.  There is no discernable dissent within  the Democrat Party.  There is no such thing as a “Dino”.  It just so happens that the last Democrat I ever voted for was Governor Robert Casey and although as the Governor of a very large and important State the Democrat Party would not allow him to speak at the DNC Convention in 1992 because he was pro-life and pro Second Amendment.  Now that is diversity but the Party stayed true to their history and not only silenced him but the DNC actively tried to embarrass him after the convention. Considering it was a the Clinton Mafia that ran that show he was lucky to get away without committing suicide. The party has only grown more mono-thought since then even while claiming to be the “Big Tent Party”.  While they may be a big tent operation the price for admission is your independent thought and allegiance.

Almost everything about Progressives is a lie.  To start they are not truly progressive, they are regressive in that they wish to return everyone to the days of serfdom when the inhabitants are totally dependent on the ruling class and in turn work only to provide that class a very good living while they scrape by on the left over crumbs.  Everything they touch deteriorates by design (Social Security; Medicare; Health Care; Education).  And what is their remedy?  Tax and spend or borrow and spend further impoverishing the citizenry and enriching those in government.  Then you get to the graft.  The main stream media never reports on corruption unless it involves one who is an “outsider”.  If you would scrape away the crust on our trade deals just with China you will see nothing but maggots eating away on the flesh of American workers and taxpayers.  These maggots go by the names of Biden, Gore, Clinton and other democrats as far down as State officials.  They or their family members are made millionaires and in case of Joe Biden’s son billionaires with business deals with China that they are suppose to make trade deals with for our benefit.  What I find so disgusting is how many people fall for their “caring and compassion” spiel while they enrich themselves.  And all this is accomplished with the aid of a willing media that is their Madison Avenue mad men.

The Republicans – You may think that the Democrat Party holds my utter contempt and they do but the Republican Party has a deeper and more contemptable spot for their own type of hypocrisy.   The voters have been putting them in power since the disastrous elections of 2006 and 2008.  Voters overwhelmingly rejected the new Democrats and placed the Republicans in control of both Houses with the promise to undo the destruction to the Country’s economy starting with the Healthcare system.  With the twin swamp rats named Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell running the show the American voters and taxpayers had no chance.  Every election cycle would bring about promises of “repealing Obamacare” to get their base all excited believing that this time they will actually do something about it.  Then the swamp creatures who control the Party would take over.  The ugly fact is that the Republican Party loves tax  and spend as much as their counterparts but they would have you believe they are just “smarter” about it.  Their corruption is different than the Democrats only in scale {they have not yet exhibited the audacity to have a Senator on a re-election bid as corrupt as Robert Menendez of New Jersey).

What does separate them by some degree from the Democrat Party is the diversity of thought within it’s ranks.  There are Republicans that openly criticize and even filibuster against their own Party.  Republicans like Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Joseph Amash and several others who are steadfast in their Libertarian/Constitutional beliefs on one end and Murkowski, Collins, Capito and Graham who are as liberal as any big government democrat at the other end show what diversity is in an organization.  Republican leadership is far more tolerant to divergent voices but does that mean they allow the Party to be steered in either direction?  Because of their propensity for tax and spend measures they lean towards the latter group but within reason.  After all, they are smarter.

Libertarian – Philosophically they are the most American of all the political parties.  I believe they are the third largest party (since the Socialist Party lost so many to the Democrat and Green parties) though I could be wrong on this count.  On the ballot in every state is quite a feat when you see the hoops that the two major parties put third and fourth parties through to attain ballot status.  For various reasons they have not been able to crack the mythical 10%.  There have been some very good candidates both nationally and local that have been shut out by the media but also they have had some real idiots.

On the national level especially in the last Presidential race they had an opportunity to advance beyond the “fringe” but opted to nominate a pothead and a former Republican Governor of Massachusetts to run against Trump and Clinton.  If there was ever a time to take advantage of a weak field with some quality candidates it was then.  I was never so disgusted than when I saw who they had nominated.  As far as their platform though the Libertarians far outshine the other two parties.  With the Individual as their focal point it truly separates them.  Respect for the individual is the keystone to all successful relationships.  Neither party respect the individual and it shows in every law and general attitude toward the taxpayer and general public.  A big problem they have to overcome is general public ignorance.  One has to think things through and be aware of the effects of all the intrusions that the other two parties inflict on the populace.  Without that it is easy to let jealousy and greed to run your culture.  So, I guess you can say they are doomed.  But if Marijuana is legalized a great number of them won’t mind.

The Trump Effect –   The last President to be elected that created this much angst amongst the intelligentsia,  career politicians and media members was Andrew Jackson. The first true democrat who was elected by a large number of what was considered the great unwashed (todays deplorables).  He really has not done a bad job as President.  He has made some mistakes and error in judgement but other than Obama – who hasn’t?  His election was such a shock because everybody just knew that the crook in the goofy pant suits was going to win in a landslide.  When reality set in the following day the left was angry that America would not agree with them.  They declared war on him and the Presidency and immediately set out to destroy him and anybody who came near him.  The media set the tone and the lunatic left went on a two year temper tantrum.  How can one not notice the bias to Trump when he is blamed even when the Democrats have caused a problem?  If the press had been half as diligent with Benghazi or the payoffs (contributions) by foreign countries to the Clinton Foundation or even her collusion with Russia then Bernie Sanders could not have had the nomination stolen from him and it would have been a very interesting election.  What is ironic is that the Democrat Party  really missed a great opportunity because Trump at heart is a democrat.  He always has been and some of his mistakes have betrayed his leanings.  Is he a leftist? Hardly.  He is a JFK liberal though and it shows how far out of touch the new Democrat Party became and how far they have strayed from mainstream.  He would have worked well with Pelosi and Schumer but then Ryan and McConnell really aren’t that much different.  The best part about Trump is how he has exposed both parties as the corrupt organizations they are and what he has done to expose the press has been genius.

So, what to do; what to do?  The polls are closed in the East at this point and I have resisted watching the results.  Not out of fear that there will be a blue wave; what will be, will be and there really isn’t much I can do about it.  I am sure that the Democrats will pick up seats in the House – the out of power party usually does – but  I think in the end  we will be in very sad shape as a Nation.  There will be an unending war between the lunatics and Trump.  Nothing will get done and our Nation will grow stagnant.  Trump will be blamed for any Republican losses but in truth any losses should be placed solely at the feet of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell the protectors of the swamp.
