The More Things Change…..
How times have changed! Fifty years ago in Selma the police turned on peaceful protesters with water hoses, dogs and batons. The protestors were marching for their rights as Americans that had been denied them by the very government that was created to protect the citizens of this Nation. Their courage has rarely been seen outside of our military. It stands as a monument to our Nation that was founded on liberty and we all owe them our admiration and thanks for making us a better country. Somewhere the movement that culminated in the Civil Rights Act of 1965 lost it’s way and was hijacked. It occurred in Memphis in 1968 and the effects can be seen in the streets of Baltimore; the latest scene of criminals on a rampage.
There are many who are connecting the bravery shown by the freedom marchers to the criminals who look to loot and ransack businesses and destroy other peoples property. They should be held in contempt by everyone who has the displeasure to hear them spout their agenda. What is their agenda? It is the same agenda that it has been for years and that is to create a state controlled world. And guess who would be controlling the state? They wish to lower America to a third world nation standard where all but the privileged few live in a meaningless existence that work only to support those in power. Not unlike the Medieval age with the many living in squalor to support the ruling class or in modern times the Mafia families or any large Corporation. So, you say, these protestors are rebelling against the powers and fighting “the man”. Well, unless you live in the backward state of Pennsylvania, “the man” does not own the liquor stores who were targeted first or the sports apparel stores or the corner grocers or the pharmacies.
All Obamas Army succeeded in doing is to place others out of a job and destroy the livelihood of many people. If those brave souls really wanted to change things looting a liquor store or burning someone else’s car is not going to do it. That shows the ignorance and cowardice of Obamas Army. If they really wanted to affect change they would have marched on City Hall and the School Administrators buildings. Burn them out and show that they know who is truly at fault. But they don’t. They never do and why is that? Could it be that their leaders who incite the criminal class do not want to attack their allies? The people who run the corrupt City Halls and School Districts lend support to the leaders of the so called rebellion. They allow the racist leaders to operate freely to seed the ignorant with racial hate in order to distract from what they are doing. And you also know that if the mob actually went to burn out the guilty; they would not be allowed to have that “room for destruction” and the Police would have been actively dismantling the mob. There you have it; cowardice and ignorance on one end and cowardice and manipulation on the other.
There has been one factor focused on in all the recent rioting. The Police and their handling of black suspects. I do not see the Police forces throughout the nation as being overtly racist and anti-black. In Baltimore the police officers who have been brought up on charges are predominantly black with only two of the six officers being white. In Ferguson the white police officer whose life has been unfairly ruined for shooting an oversized punk while struggling for the cops weapon has been exonerated by the Justice Department who were actively seeking to find him guilty. The obese black man who died of a heart attack in New York after being arrested did not deserve to die for the crime of selling loose cigarettes. His weight was more of a factor in his death then the color of the arresting officers. But what was rarely mentioned if ever was the people behind his arrest; a very liberal City Hall who saw him as depriving the government of revenue. Thankfully the majority of cops are good people who are out there to help and serve. I did not include protect because they do not protect unless they happen to be on a scene at the time. Only victims or those who will be victims rely on the police as protectors. If you want protection you should only rely on yourself or trusted family and friends.
It is not easy being a cop but that is known when they join the force. In most of America the police are used more as a revenue agent for the local government. Police departments have grown to sizes un-thought of before the 1980s and I think Andy of Mayberry would even have a SWAT team at this point with Barney running it. Oversight is needed of police department actions but what it has become is second guess campaigns with cops being automatically tried and found guilty before an investigation is even started. Especially when race is involved. I would prefer that race never be mentioned if it is not mentioned always. For example there was a young white Temple University female that was hit while riding her bike and the driver after looking at her laying in the street; left the scene without calling for help. The news never mention that the car was driven by a young black male with two other black males, it wasn’t until after he was caught ( his father turned him in) did we know that he was black. His color had nothing to do with it because he was the perpetrator just as it has nothing to do with the color of the police officers and the populace. It has more to do with the number of laws that our government has burdened the people with and the reliance on their police forces to enforce the laws that they create. And as with other areas of society (big corporations; school districts etc.) discretion is taken away from them with a set of standards to be followed and when the standards aren’t enough then they have to call someone higher lest they make an error in judgment. We have allowed a system for failure to grow with no end in sight but when that end comes watch out!
During the civil rights protests the police came down hard on them. In our society today the police enforce burdensome laws making criminals out of nearly everyone. What is the common factor? It is not the police as you have been led to believe through the media. The same people who controlled the police in the sixties control the police in all the major urban settings where trouble erupts. It is the democratic party who ordered the hoses to be turned on and the dogs let loose in the sixties and it is the same democratic party that has created the atmosphere of despair within an entire race of people and uses the police department to keep them in their place. The more things change the more they stay the same.
